A Ski Zenit camp is a week of high-performance ski race training with TOP-TIER coaches and a customised program focused on taking your racing skills to the next level. Camps run from Sunday to Saturday and include 5 days of ski training (weather permitting) and 1 day of alternative activities. This all takes place in a safe and fun environment with athletes attending from more than 30 different countries each year.
Athletes can stay at our hotel with 24/7 supervision or can procure their own lodging with their families.
Ski Zenit training sessions focus on improving ski skills in a variety of ways through ski training, video analysis, mental coaching, yoga and other physical activities. Sessions are carefully balanced to be challenging, intense but also fun. One of the keys to our training method is to instill confidence in our athletes by following a series of well defined steps.
YES, they cater to all levels and racers of all ages. We offer adapted training methods for both children and adults to ensure progress and general enjoyment. Whether your goal is to win races, master technique or just enjoy skiing in an awesome environment, we customise your experience based on your current ability.
Training with Ski Zenit is the best way to improve quickly.
At our ski race center we will help you develop the tools you need to become an independent ski racer andl get the most out of every single day on the slopes.
We believe that all ski racers need to understand their strengths and weaknesses so that improvement does not end when they finish training with us but continues with their local teams, ski clubs or other ski race centres.
We have been fine-tuning our coaching methods for over a decade, applying the latest technical concepts and developing specific programs for every age group of racers.
We focus on the development and reinforcement of fundamental technical, tactical, physical and mental skills, with many interesting complementary activities after ski training. All the activities and ski racing lessons are tailored for each group depending on age and level.
Ski Camps for youth. Education, performance and fun for U12 - U14 - U16 Ski Racers.
Our youngest athletes (age 8-11) will use the mornings to improve their technical skiing skills by engaging in fun and stimulating training sessions bringing them one step closer to becoming mature athletes. During the afternoons they will take part in a variety of activities intended to develop their physical and mental skills while having fun in an atmosphere of teamwork and friendship.
For the 12-15 age group our training plan aims to help our racers become self-organised athletes that know how to get the best out of each training session and always have a positive attitude. Ski training focuses on reinforcing and further developing their basic technical and tactical skills into more advanced skill sets. In seeking higher performance and versatility, we use a wider range of ski resources that incorporate new concepts and training experiences. Afternoon activities strengthen other important mental and physical skills, all while having great fun and making new friends.
For FIS athletes we apply the most personalised ski programs and use the best training slopes, all coupled with a high-quality program of complementary non-skiing activities. We help FIS athletes of all racing levels succeed in their short-, medium- and long-term ski racing goals with specific training blocks or full programs. During the Summer, Autumn and Winter we organise the highest quality ski training for FIS racers in Saas-Fee, Chile and Zinal.
In Summer on the glacier it can be as cold as in winter first thing in the morning so a good system of layers is important to stay warm.
As the day progresses it warms up considerably which means that being able to remove layers is crucial. In the town of Saas Fee where we do our afternoon training it can get very warm so sports clothing, including shorts and t-shirts, is required. Also a waterproof jacket in case of Summer showers is useful.
Thanks to lower temperatures in Autumn, ski days on the glacier are longer and therefore less time is spent on afternoon non-skiing activities. As Winter-like conditions prevail on the glacier, warm clothing is required for both on- and off-snow activities.
If you can ski all slopes in a ski resort and enjoy dynamic, active skiing you can greatly benefit from our ski race training camps. In order to accurately assess your current level, we ask you to provide a video of yourself. If we find that you have not yet reached the required level, we can offer you private training which is the best way to quickly close the skill gap in an environment specifically tailored to your needs.
Our hotel is located close to the lift and offers double and triple rooms. Our experienced caretaker offers 24/7 supervision. A wide range of non-ski activities and a tasty, nutritious and healthy menu at the restaurant contribute to creating a fantastic environment for our athletes.
As part of our booking process, you will be asked about your current equipment. If it is not fit for the sort of skiing we propose, we are on hand to provide advice and guidance. We have a great deal through Fischer, Komperdell and Ziener for all of your race camp needs at discounted prices.
Unfortunately, not in our athletes’ hotel which is for racers only as this is the best way to create a suitable ‘race camp’ environment. If you wish to be in the same accommodation as your children, we work closely with several hotels and accommodation providers and we will be happy to assist you in finding suitable accommodation.
By age group and with differentiated goals and drills according to skill level. We develop a specific training programme each week for each group. We provide training in freeski, educational drills and gates courses as needed, with a major emphasis on strengthening fundamental technical and tactical skills.
We always recommend giving your children some spending money to buy extra snacks etc. All of their meals, snacks and requirements are met at the athletes’ hotel but as Saas Fee is a very safe, car-free resort, it is good for children to have some spending money to be able to purchase some things independently.
Athletes come from over 30 different countries to attend our race camps creating a truly international experience. Our athletes range from beginner racers to those who have competed at the Olympic Games. Although the official language of the camps is English, we have coaches and staff fluent in many languages.
Ski Zenit offers its athletes and their chaperones a transfer service in comfortable mini-buses from/to the Geneva, Zürich, Basel or Milan airports. Transfer by motorway takes about three hours. From the Visp train station you must take a bus to Saas-Fee (two buses per hour) which takes about 45 minutes. You can purchase both legs of the trip on a single ticket.
The trip from the Milano Malpensa airport takes about the same amount of time. From the airport, you need to take a bus to the Domodossola train station (bookings through www.comazzi.it).
